About

The firm,
the founder,
the story.

DMJF Human Capital was founded in 2019 by Darrell-James Martin — a Dublin-based advisor who left the Big Four to build the firm he wished his expat clients had been able to call.

A note from the founder

"We started out
over coffee in Dublin —
and a few hard questions."

When I left the Big Four to set up here in Dublin, the same conversations kept happening. An Irish-American founder. A British family who'd just moved over. A German engineer paying tax in three places because his contract crossed too many borders.

Their accountants weren't bad — they were specialists in one country, getting tangled in two more. So we built a different kind of firm. The accounting and tax is sharp and the cross-border bit is the specialism, not the awkward bit.

If you've been bounced between firms, paid for three opinions, and still aren't sure where you stand — pull up a chair. That's exactly the kind of mess we like sorting out.

Meet the team

The people behind the desk.

A small team by design — so every client conversation runs through people who actually know your file.

Evelyn — Marketing Administrator

Evelyn

"Building the brand, running the campaigns, keeping the story straight."

Evelyn supports DMJF's marketing, branding and business development — social, campaigns, advertising and performance analytics. With a background in Psychology and Marketing, she brings the strategic eye and the creative one at the same time.

Outside work she's usually at the gym or a pilates class, and has a proper eye for fashion.

Amy — Client Secretary

"Every call answered, every client looked after, every detail handled."

Amy is DMJF's Client Secretary — the person on the other end of the phone, the first face of the firm, and the one who keeps every interaction warm and professional. Law-degree background, calm under pressure, and a genuine belief that trust is built one conversation at a time.

Outside the office she plays piano and turns out surprisingly intricate nail art in her spare time.

What we believe

Three principles,
quietly held.

Specific, not generic.

"We've set up Delaware C-Corps for European founders from Berlin" beats "we help with international business setup." We name names and tell stories.

Plain English, especially when it's hard.

Cross-border tax is genuinely complicated. The clarity is our job, not yours. If we can't explain it in a sentence, we don't understand it well enough.

Confident, never arrogant.

We've done this for hundreds of other people. Say it once, move on, do the work. No preening, no hand-waving, no theatre.

Our story

Small acorns,
mighty oaks.

In Old Irish, the word for oak is dair — the root of Kildare, Derry and Durrow. For two thousand years on this island, the oak has stood for wisdom, longevity and quiet strength. It's the tree that grows slowly, lives long, and shelters generations.

It's also the metaphor we built DMJF on — helping ambitious people and businesses put down strong roots, then grow far beyond them.
