A note from the founder

"We started out
over coffee in Dublin —
and a few hard questions."

When I left the Big Four to set up here in Dublin, the same conversations kept happening. An Irish-American founder. A British family who'd just moved over. A German engineer paying tax in three places because his contract crossed too many borders. They all needed help, and nobody seemed able to give them the full picture.

Their accountants weren't bad — they were specialists in one country, getting tangled in two more. So we built a different kind of firm. The accounting and tax is sharp and the cross-border bit is the specialism, not the awkward bit.

If you've been bounced between firms, paid for three opinions, and still aren't sure where you stand — pull up a chair. That's exactly the kind of mess we like sorting out.

If this sounds familiar

You're probably hiring
the wrong kind of help.

"My accountant does my Irish returns grand — but I've US income too, and nobody wants to touch it."

That's our day job. We handle Revenue, Form 11s, and everything Ireland-side as standard. The US and UK layers are the specialism most firms don't have.

"I've just relocated. I've no idea where I'm tax-resident anymore, who pays into my pension, or whether my UK contracts still work."

Sit down, have a cup of tea. Cross-border residency, payroll, contracts — we sort the year your address changes country.

"I'm a small business owner in Dublin. I just want a proper accountant who picks up the phone and explains things in plain English."

You're in the right place. Most of what we do here is straight Irish accounting and tax for Dublin businesses and individuals. We just happen to handle the harder stuff when it shows up too.

"I have HR in one country, lawyers in another, an accountant in a third. Nobody talks. I'm the project manager — and that's not my job."

Sure it's not. Five disciplines, one firm, one point of contact. You get to go back to running your business.

Our specialism

When home is
more than one place.

Most accountants in Dublin do Irish tax, and they do it well. DMJF Human Capital does Irish tax — and we handle the US, UK and EU layers that get bolted on top when you live, work, or run a business across borders.

American living in Ireland and need to file a US 1040 plus an Irish Form 11? Brit working remotely from Spain juggling HMRC and Hacienda? Irish founder selling into Delaware? A family moving country mid-tax-year? Pull up a chair — this is the desk you want to be sitting at.

DMJF moved our family's affairs from London to Dublin and across to New York in eighteen months. We never spoke to a single other firm. They handle everything — and they make it feel simple.

An oak tree — the firm's namesake
Our story

Small acorns,
mighty oaks.

In Old Irish, the word for oak is dair — the root of Kildare, Derry and Durrow. For two thousand years on this island, the oak has stood for wisdom, longevity and quiet strength. It's the tree that grows slowly, lives long, and shelters generations.

It's also the metaphor we built DMJF on — helping ambitious people and businesses put down strong roots, then grow far beyond them. We are accountants. We are advisors. We are, above all, custodians of our clients' ambition.

Inside the office

Real people,
real desks.

No call-centre. No offshore support team. When you send a message to DMJF, one of the three faces on this page reads it — usually the same day.

The office is between Dublin and Feeny, County Derry. Small enough that the person who takes your first call is the person who ends up doing the work.

Questions, answered

Things people ask
before they book.

Nothing. Thirty minutes, no obligation, no sales pitch. We use it to understand what you're trying to do and whether we can help. If we can't, we'll tell you that too.

Yes. Most of our work is straight Irish accounting and tax for Dublin-based businesses and individuals. The expat and cross-border work is what sets us apart, but it isn't all we do — and you won't pay for specialism you don't need.

Yes. We work with clients in 16+ countries. As long as your situation touches the EU, UK or US in some way, we're set up to advise on it. Most meetings happen over video.

It depends entirely on what you need. After the first call we send a written proposal with fixed pricing — no hourly billing surprises. Typical engagements range from a few hundred (one-off advisory) to ongoing retainers for full multi-jurisdiction support.

Only if you want us to. Some clients keep a domestic accountant for the basics and use us for the cross-border layer. Others move everything to us. We'll be honest about which makes sense in your situation.

That's exactly what the first call is for. Most people who book one show up unsure. By the end of thirty minutes, we'll have mapped out what's actually in front of you and what the options look like. No pressure to commit.

Let's talk

Pull up a chair.
We've got the kettle on.

Tell us where you are, where you're heading, and the questions keeping you up at night. We'll send a thirty-minute slot back — no obligation, no sales pitch, no fuss.
